2025 Events Calendar
“We’re excited to announce a sensational lineup of cycling and motorbiking events that will take you on to all corners of Southern Africa and leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re a pro or a newcomer, each event promises more than just an exciting ride. We have planned thirteen events for 2025, on the Mountain Bike Side we have 6 x MTB Multi-MTB Day Stage Races, 4 x MTB Multi-Day Tours, and 1 x Gravel—Enduro MTB event. ” – Mike Glover, Red Cherry Events
Heading over to the motorcycles we have 2 x Hard Enduro Multi-Day Navigational events, 2 x 7 Day Charity rides and 2 x Adventure Bike Events. None of this would have been possible without Mike and the team from Red Cherry Events.
Weekend Warrior George • 1 – 2 February 2025
First on the lineup, we have Weekend Warrior George, taking place from February 1 – 2 and setting off from the NMU George Campus! Riders will head straight into the numerous SANParks trails in the area.
This event is a family-style stage race that will take riders through the beautiful Witfontein Mountains. As you tackle unique challenges, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of this stunning region. Did you know that George is surrounded by the renowned Outeniqua Mountains and is often considered the “Capital of the Garden Route”? It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet other riders, make new friends, and immerse yourself in the local community spirit.
After an action-packed day, unwind at our race village and savor delicious local food and drinks, with a prize-giving ceremony planned for Sunday after the races!
M&G Investments PE PLETT • 19 – 23 February 2025
Before February ends, we have another event that you do not want to miss—the M&G Investments PE Plett, happening from February 19 – 23. This year, the event promises to be South Africa’s most diverse stage race! Starting from Mentorskraal in Jeffreys Bay, riders will embark on a remarkable journey covering over 280 km along the famous Garden Route, finishing four days later at the Nature’s Valley, De Vasselot campsite.
For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, our “The Tour” option, offers a non-timed, exploration-focused ride that offers lunch out on route and no timed results or pressure of a time bar. Ride through the Tsitsikama Forest during the last two stages. After the race, there are celebrations that include free beers from SAB, awards ceremonies, entertainment, and a chance for cyclists to relax and socialise with fellow participants.
Did you know that Jeffreys Bay is celebrated as a world-class surfing destination, hosting the annual J-Bay Open along with the start of the M&G South Africa PE PLETT.

Rallye Raid Hogsback • 6 – 9 March 2025
Following this, we dive into our first motorbike event of the year, Rallye Raid Hogsback, from March 6 – 9. Based at the Arminel Hotel in Hogsback, EC, we have three new route options waiting for you!
Rallye Raid Hogsback attracts both seasoned racers and enthusiastic amateurs.
This exciting off-road adventure will be held for the eighth time in the stunning Hogsback Mountains. With 200 adventure bikers participating, riders will traverse scenic routes through lush indigenous forests that have been untouched for years, each day lunches are served on route, and the evenings are filled with live music from Jono and giveaways from the event partners. Hogsback is renowned for its picturesque waterfalls and is believed to have inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Our route options cater to all skill levels and pillion passengers are most welcome, ensuring a memorable ride for everyone!
Forest Boogie • 13 – 16 March 2025
We stay in Hogsback and get ready for what will be this inaugural 2-Day MTB Stage Race the ECM Forest Boogie setting off from the same Arminel Hotel in Hogsback on March 13 – 16!
Racers can choose between the challenging Gold class (61 km daily) and the more accessible Silver class (32 km), with a separate category for e-bikes. The event should attracts both seasoned mountain bikers and enthusiastic newcomers, come and explore this fairyland that has been the destination of many travellers over the years.
We ride through breathtaking Amatola Mountains, enjoy delicious meals, and relax in the beautiful surroundings of the lodge. With lush forests and vibrant waterfalls, Hogsback promises an unforgettable experience.

Tour de Addo, Best of Darlington Dam • 29 March – 1 April 2025
Next, we hop back on our mountain bikes, heading to the mighty Addo Elephant National Park for the Tour de Addo from March 29 to April 1. Each participant will experience a luxurious camping stay at our glamping village, situated on the banks of the Darlington Dam, allowing them to soak in the natural beauty of the park.
Supported by M&G Investments and in association with SANParks Honorary Rangers, this event will see a limited field of riders enjoying a three-day and three-night mountain biking experience, surrounded by the sounds of nature. Addo is not just home to elephants; it’s one of South Africa’s best conservation success stories! That success is largely due to events like Tour de Addo, where a portion of every entry gets donated to the SAN Parks Honorary Rangers, who in turn use the proceeds to further the development of this special park
While cycling, participants often have the chance to spot various wildlife species, including elephants, buffalo, and a variety of birds. This unique experience connects riders with the natural habitat of the park!
Ride for Change •7 – 11 April 2025
We then head to the breathtaking Wild Coast of South Africa for Ride For Change from April 7 – 11. This 5-day charity ride on trusty Honda CRF-230 bikes will guide you through dirt bike heaven. We’ll stay at various hotels, including Trennerys and Hole in the Wall, spending two nights at most of them.
Leading up to the event, there will be informational sessions, training rides, and workshops on cycling techniques, safety, and training plans. These activities help participants prepare and engage with one another.
Participants can choose to ride daily or relax by the bar or on the beach between transition days. Each ride and from each rider fee year, we will donate 500 pounds to our charity, Touch Africa, focusing on Early Childhood Development. The funds will help build a new crèche for 50 children and implement a feeding scheme for an entire year. The Wild Coast is known for its untouched beauty, featuring dramatic cliffs and welcoming local communities.
Weekend Warrior Grabouw • 12 – 13 April 2025
The second Weekend Warrior event will take place in Grabouw on April 12 – 13. Participants will spend two nights camping on the Elgin Country Club’s grounds, all while soaking in breathtaking vistas and enjoying two days of world-class riding through the Oak Valley vineyards and the apple orchards of Tru-Cape.
Grabouw is known as the “apple capital” of South Africa, and it’s the perfect blend of farming history and outdoor activities. Each twist and turn of the trail presents you with the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
For our bronze riders, we have new trails on the Eikenhoff side of the dam that are a fantastic addition to this exciting upcoming event! These trails offer a mix of fun and challenging routes that cater to all skill levels. We also have a famous A-Z single track for both the silver and gold routes. The terrain features quick paths that wind through Applegarth Farms as riders head back to the Elgin Grabouw Country Club!
JBFE Sea to Sea South • 14 – 18 May 2025
Next up is the JBFE Sea to Sea South, which will take place from May 14 – 18. This event is specially designed for the weekend warrior eager for an epic adventure on the Wild Coast. With three route options, riders can choose to go “Mild” or “Wild”! Kicking off our journey at Trennerys Hotel, we’ll spend two nights at Kob Inn Beach Resort—this is not a race; it’s all about camaraderie and the shared experience of riding through one of the most scenic areas in South Africa.
Many participants compete in teams, working together to get their machines through this beautiful piece of coastline.. Team formats encourage participants to support each other, share responsibilities, and enhance the overall experience of the adventure. So it’s a great opportunity to create stronger relationships either with your corporate team or with your best riding friends.
With stunning coastal views, dramatic landscapes, and vibrant communities, participants will find themselves with numerous opportunities to capture memorable moments throughout their journey along the famous Wild Coast.
Transkei Trek • 7 – 10 May 2025
Staying at Trennerys beach Hotel for another week, we venture to the tribal lands for the Transkei Trek from May 7 – 10, the event will include two days of coastal riding and one day in the rural villages.
Celebrating its fifth year, this event comes with new changes and additions to ensure an exciting experience. Our new home base will be at Trennerys Hotel, just an hour from East London Airport. Transkei is known for its breathtaking landscapes and cultural significance, providing participants with an authentic experience of South Africa’s Xhosa heritage.
Experienced guides lead the trek, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants. The team from Red Cherry Events are knowledgeable about the region’s ecology, history, and culture, enriching the experience with insights and information about this diverse and still very rural landscape.
GravDuro powered by Westvaal Somerset West Isuzu • 1 June 2025
Next up in the Western Cape is GravDuro powered by Westvaal Somerset West Isuzu, set for June 1, 2025. This event is not a race the whole way, but rather for certain stages along the route. Participants will be timed for either six or four stages along the route, contributing to their overall score.
Riders can expect waterpoints at 3 points along the route and at the finish line.
Riders will experience some of the most famous farms and climbs in the Western Cape. We all know the Western Cape is home to breathtaking mountain ranges, including the Kogelberg Mountains and the Elgin Valley. Riders can expect to see majestic peaks rising dramatically against the horizon, often surrounded by lush greenery and vineyards. The slopes are dotted with a mixture of indigenous fynbos vegetation and vineyards, creating a picturesque landscape that changes with the light throughout the day!
As they tackle the infamous Hans se Kop climb, the elevation gain rewards them with sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and far-off mountains. The contrast between the steep cliffs and rolling hills adds to the dramatic beauty of the ride. You don’t want to miss out on this unforgettable experience in one of South Africa’s most scenic regions!
Tour De Addo – Best of Nyathi 20 – 23 August 2025
Returning to the Addo Elephant National Park, we will explore the majestic landscape of Nyathi from August 20 – 23. This three-day adventure will allow riders to immerse themselves in the heart of the Big Five territory and enjoy exceptional game viewing alongside exhilarating mountain biking.
Did you know that Addo is one of the most important conservation areas in the country, offering numerous habitats for a wide range of animals? Nyathi will be your campground, providing a unique experience amidst nature’s greatest wonders.
you can leave your wallet in the car! Once you enter, all drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic are included, allowing you to relax and fully immerse yourself in the bush experience without worrying about extra costs.
After the game ride each day, you can also look forward to enjoying two freshly cooked meals each day, prepared right in the heart of the bush. From savory steak braais to comforting homemade lasagna, we ensure that you won’t go hungry during your adventure. For lunch, we serve a selection of tasty snacks and sandwiches to enjoy while you’re on the move, allowing you to savor your meal amidst the beautiful natural surroundings. Inner City Enduro 13 – 14 September 2025
The adrenaline continues with the Inner City Enduro from 13 – 14 September, as ICE returns to the Baakens Valley for another year, promising an incredible showdown between man and machine.
The top motorcycle riders in the country like Wade Young, Matt Green, Kyle Flanagan will be hoping to make their mark and finish on the step come Sunday Afternoon. The Pro Class riders will compete for a total prize of R80,000, making this a thrilling spectacle for participants and spectators alike. The Baakens Valley only comes alive once like this and if you want to experience the raw energy, be sure to make your way down there!
JBFE Sea to Sea North 1 – 5 October 2025
Next up we have the Sea to Sea North starting from 1 – 5 October, a paradise for dirt bike enthusiasts, featuring awesome rides through Mdumbi, Mpumzi, Mpami, Lapanzi, and the iconic Hole in the Wall. This unforgettable three-day event will start at the Ocean View Hotel in Coffee Bay and enjoying two nights at the Haven Hotel in Dwesa Reserve.
This event offers riders looking to get a taste of hard enduro that chance. Routes are Silver and Gold with the odd Wild Split allowing you to really test yourself and your team.
Rallye Raid Harties 31 October – 2 November 2025
Next up is the Rallye Raid Harties, scheduled for 31 October – 2 November. Day 1 of Rallye Raid 2025 will introduce a new RR3 route ideal for big bikers, passengers, and novice adventurers, leading to RR2 for those who want additional jeep tracks, ensuring that RR1 participants still face enjoyable challenges.
Lunch will be at the historic Katberg Hotel, a scenic location rich in cultural heritage. On Day 2, riders will traverse the enchanting Hogsback forest with routes catering to various skill levels, highlighting this stunning part of the Eastern Cape.
